Tel Aviv in bicycle

riding bicycles in tel aviv

Almost every Telavivian owns a bicycle or substitute –electrical bike, monocycle, scooter, you name it- and the municipality has made it easier than ever to plough through the city on one, two or three wheels.

Bicycle paths will take guests at the Mendeli Street Hotel from north to south, east to west, through the bustling Carmel market to the blossoming Bauhaus Rothschild promenade, from the salty aired port to picturesque Arab Jaffa.

On two wheels any parking spot is a good spot in a hectic city such as Tel Aviv, and pedaling in its flat topography makes it accessible for guests of all ages. Our expert concierge team will guide you through the multiple possibilities of bicycle renting, including a municipal initiative of bike sharing, where bicycles can be rented on daily, weekly or monthly basis. In the meantime we have put together a connoisseur bicycle path guide:

From the north port to Jaffa’s port

The wooden trail of the port offers the possibility to meander slowly on the path by the stores and the sea. Stops to charge fuel in any café and enjoy the view are recommended. The path goes all along the line of the sea until its southern point: Jaffa. Those five kilometers of beaches allow fast rides in the recently inaugurated bicycle trail with traffic lights and cyclers no longer have to zigzag between the colorful human streams.

From Rabin square to Habima

Rabin square and its commercial surroundings is an inviting place for shopping –in the boutique mall Gan Hair for instance- or having great ice cream, and then burning the calories pedaling through the wooded Shderot Chen up until Habima, the cultural square that reunites the National Theatre, the Auditorium and Helena Rubinstein’s art museum.

Yarkon Park

The green lung of Tel Aviv with its Yarkon river, endless trees, hidden paths and fresh shady places is the perfect scenario for bicycle riding.

From North Tel Aviv Port to the Marina in Herzeliya

At the northern tip of the port the bridge over the Yarkon estuary will take bikers around Reading Power station and from there to the end of the Sde Dov airport runway. That promenade offers a unique attraction: planes thundering above, close and intimately. The new bicycle path will shuttle you all the way to the Herzerliya Marina.
