Pesach in Tel Aviv
Minutes before spring invades the White City we invite you to take advantage of our very cool pre-Passover offer at Mendeli: an up graded room including two stupendous body treatments and parking for 340 USD per night, from April 17th-21st.
Then, Passover -Pesach in Hebrew- takes over Israel. Pesach is the celebration of the biblical exodus of the Jews from the Egyptian slavery towards the freedom of Canaan.
And three millennia later, on the verge of spring 2016, Tel Aviv celebrates that traditional Jewish freedom but also its new interpretations: freedom in the amplest sense possible. The city revels with raves and parties of self-determination during this month. Our expert concierge team will be happy to give details on where and when.
This year’s Passover begins at sunset April 22nd, Friday, and ends the following Friday after sundown; seven full days where a portion of the population abides the dietary laws that forbid eating products made from leavened grain and follows the directive to eat matzo, the flat unleavened bread. While the other portion of the population happily skips the prohibition and either goes to Yafo to find fresh pita or makes their way to the non-kosher restaurants that prepare their own pasta and bread and serve beer.
Incidentally, guests at Mendeli will be enjoying the fabulous dishes and breakfasts which we are known for, accompanied by matzos, matzos with everything possible beside them or on top of them!
The best of both worlds…
Passover is just around the corner so make sure to book your room at the coolest boutique hotel in town, before the waters part again!
